Super-curricular
In addition to their chosen courses, Year 12 students may choose to complete a super-curricular qualification. Our super-curricular courses allow students to delve deeper into subjects of interest beyond the standard curriculum, fostering a love for learning and intellectual curiosity.
They provide opportunities to develop valuable skills such as critical thinking, research, problem-solving, and teamwork. Additionally, our super-curricular courses help students build a diverse academic portfolio, making them more competitive for university applications and job opportunities.
By challenging students to engage with complex concepts and independent projects, we cultivate well-rounded young people who are prepared for the demands of higher education and the professional world.
Students can make their choice of qualification to complement their other courses – such as taking Criminology or Maths to support Psychology – or to diversify from their courses and follow a personal interest such as Sport.
Each course is equivalent to half an A Level and will be completed by the end of Year 12.
The available super-curricular courses are:
- Criminology
- Maths
- Sport
- Extended Project Qualification (EPQ)
