News Bulletin 8 December 2023
BackDear families of the Deepings School,
This week the first round of Year 11 PPE results have been released to students and parents. A well-timed parents evening also allows up to date feedback to be shared between the school, parents and the student. The first round of mock exams is often a kick start into reality and the importance of well time and well sequenced revision. Needless to say, there is plentiful support and guidance being provide by the school over the coming weeks and months, with parental engagement and support very much appreciated.
Year 11 parents evening was the first of many, we are now going to go through the carousel of parent’s evenings with all year groups in January and February. Dates and arrangements will be sent early in the new term.
As expected, there was a plethora of brightly coloured jumpers worn yesterday. This, along with assemblies focussing on mid winter traditions this week have signalled the beginning of Christmas. With 8 school days left, students reminded to stay focussed on their work, attend school every day, present themselves in the correct uniform and continue to embrace our values of Kindness, Respect and Ambition.
As the end of term looms we are reflecting on a number of initatives implemented since our ofsted inspection back in September. In the final newsletter of the term I am looking forward to sharing some of the progress we have made since then. I will be circulating additiaonl information alongside next week's newsletter. Part of our onging school improvement strategy is to receive feedback from all stakeholders. Many do take the opportunity to come and meet with me, along with receiving feedback via email. Students, parents and staff readily comunicate their views on the school. Therefore I continue to extend the opportunity for anyone to contact the school to arrange an appointment to meet me on a Friday morning.
Finally, do continue to share any success your child achieves outside of school or any acts of volunteering or kindness. We are always delighted to hear of their achievements.
Have a lovely weekend.
Ms K Johnson
Headteacher
