Curriculum Intent

The Deepings School prides itself on delivering a curriculum which reinforces the values of Kindness, Respect and Ambition.

Our knowledge rich curriculum is built on powerful and ambitious knowledge, reading and vocabulary.  Pupils develop strategies that strengthen recall, enabling them to make connections within subjects and across subjects.  Equally important in our curriculum landscape is the hinterland knowledge which allows students to understand how each subject contributes to society and the world they live in, thus reducing educational inequality.

Our curriculum provides a coherent learning experience for our students as it is carefully sequenced to ensure that students are ready for and ‘notice’ new learning. Above all else, we are striving to both structure and implement our curriculum so that it has the impact of long-term learning, not short term performance.

Our curriculum intention is to develop well rounded, young people, through their learning journey.
