On Tuesday 14^th November, Deepings school U14 boys played their 1^st round County Cup fixture against Queen Elizabeth Grammar School, Horncastle. Deepings fought extremely hard for each other and deservedly went into half-time 2-0 thanks to some smart play from Tyler Pratt when he latched onto Ross Milne’s long throw-in to finish calmly and some tenacious work from Noah Bush to capitalise on a defensive error. The second half began and there was no let-up in Deepings work rate, Queen Elizabeth tried to respond but were found wanting with a fantastic defensive display from Deepings; especially Liam Hollman who did not put a foot wrong all game. The game was put to bed in the final minutes with Toby Hartley finishing from another throw-in. The boys go into the next round full of confidence and ready to face anyone.
