On Thursday afternoon, ten Year 10 Sports Leaders attended the annual Primary School Cross country event at William Hildyard Primary school.

The event saw children in a wide range of year groups, from across seven primary schools, take part in running events.

The Sports Leaders were each assigned to a school and were actively involved in showing children the running routes, warming them up, starting the races, marshalling the courses, assigning finishing place cards, and awarding medals.

Throughout the afternoon, the Sports Leaders were commended by the local schools for their positive attitude and their maturity in leading the event. 

They were a true asset to The Deepings School in the way they conducted themselves.  It was a pleasure to oversee the event and the pupils were fantastic!
