This week, Year 12 students have been taking part in Work Experience Week.

Many students have secured work placements outside of school and have been working with a wide range of employers, including Perkins Engines, Bauer Media, The Peak District Authority, the NHS and Park Air.  We have had students working in care homes, primary schools, with childminders, at dog groomers and on golf courses!

For those students who remained in school for all or part of the week, there has been a programme of work-related learning activities in place for them.  This included online activities with Unifrog, Reed and Barclays Life Skills, and a Teams workshop delivered by the NHS on Interview Techniques.  The Department of Work and Pensions visited us to deliver a workshop about developing employability skills on Tuesday, and on Wednesday WorkPays came in to run a Mock Assessment Workshop.

We are very grateful to all of the employers and organisations that have helped us to put this programme in place for our students.

For those students remaining in school, the week ended with a team building challenge – build a car out of a cardboard box!
