Sports News - Year 7 reach the semi-finals!
BackYear 10 Netball
Thursday started this term's Netball fixtures.
Year 10 travelled to take on Spalding Academy. We put out a strong 8-player squad, who regularly attend training, and the game definitely reflected the teamwork they have developed over time. The game went goal for goal every quarter, with 'some superb interceptions' from Isabella Minnis, as quoted by the Spalding coach.
The final score was 4-4 and the player of the match was awarded to Jess Sanford.
Well played ladies and good luck in next week's tournament.
Year 10 Football
The Year 10 team put on a solid display against a resilient Spalding Academy. This was their first game back since the Christmas break, so it took them a while to get going. Two goals from Edward Barsby and a goal from Josh Lang was enough to take all three points. A good display from the team.
Year 7 Football
The Deepings School U12 Boys football team travelled to Spalding Academy for their LSFA quarter final.
After exchanging goals with Spalding in the first half, it was 2-2 (goals from Joe C-A and Logan Friend) at half time. The team knew that if they could take control of the game in the second half then they would be through to the semi-final. Goals from Joe C-A and Callum Burdett, as well as some fantastic saves from Josh Burgh and some outstanding defending, saw the boys finish with a win of 4-2.
The team will face either William Farr or Queen Elizabeth Grammar School in the semi-finals at the end of March.
