On Wednesday 26 April, The Deepings School maths department entered 20 pyupils (10 in year 7 and 10 in year 8) into the UKMT Junior Maths Challenge.

It is the first time since 2014 that pupils have been entered into this challenge from The Deepings School and all 20 pupils were fantastic. The questions on the Junior Maths Challenge were very taxing as they are designed to encourage pupils to think mathematically to tackle problems that they do not normally face in lessons.

The most successful pupils taking part received a gold, silver or bronze awards under their tiered system. Below is a list of the pupils who took part and what tier they achieved. Special mention must go to Eddie Maddison who achieved a gold award and the best score in the school, and to Brandon Crooks who achieved a silver award and the best score out of all the year 7 students entered.
