Jude has been involved with drag racing all his life, but 2023 is the first year he has raced in his own vehicle.

Normally Jude can be found helping, watching others, and learning about the sport, until last Christmas, when he received his own go-kart.  After spending a weekend getting it up and running, his family found a piece of tarmac where he could safely test his kart and get used to the vehicle.

The next step was to visit the Melbourne drag racing track in York.  Here you can race any safe vehicle on the eighth mile strip of tarmac.  Jude has progressed well this year.  He started off averaging times of 16 seconds, at speeds of 34mph, and after a season of racing, tuning, and modifying the kart, he is now completing the same distance in 13 seconds at 47 mph.
